PAC 6: Radiation Measurements and Dosimetry

Program Area Committee (PAC) 6 is responsible for oversight of activities related to radiation measurements and dosimetry. Functioning within the scope of PAC 6 is SC 6-3 on Uncertainties in Internal Radiation Dosimetry..

Currently authorized but unfunded activities within this program area are:

aerosol measurements
assessment of measurement methodologies for environmental indicators of past releases (joint with PAC 5)
biological dosimetry
evaluation of ultrasensitive measurement techniques
guidance on measurements for quality assurance and verification for conformal radiation therapy (joint activity with PAC 4)
update of NCRP Report No. 58, Handbook of Radioactivity Measurements

PAC 6 met in San Antonio, Texas on February 3, 2009 to update and expand the authorized but unfunded activities list, identify funding sources and appoint a lead point of contact for each topic. White papers were submitted to the Scientific Vice President in March 2009.
