SC 1-13:  Impact of Individual Susceptibility and Previous Radiation Exposure on Radiation Risk for Astronauts

The Committee was organized to determine the impact of individual susceptibility and previous radiation exposure on the radiation risk for astronauts during space flight. The Committee held its first meeting in October 2003. A second meeting was held in January 2004 and a third meeting was held in April 2004. A fourth meeting was held on July 8-9, 2004. A fifth meeting was held October 21-22, 2004. The Committee conducted a conference call January 27, 2005. A sixth meeting of the Committee was held on June 28-30, 2005. A teleconference of all Committee members, the President of NCRP, and staff was held on May 2, 2006. Work continued on revisions of the draft report through the third quarter of 2007, and the draft has been sent to NCRP. Work by the Committee on report references will continue and final preparation of the draft report for review by PAC 1 and Council is pending supplemental funding from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
