Home | Current Program | PAC 5 | SC 64-22SC 64-22: Design of Effective Effluent and Environmental Monitoring ProgramsThe Committee held its first meeting in May 1997 where an outline was developed and writing assignments were made. A second meeting was held in August 1997 where the outline was modified and drafting assignments were extended. A third meeting was held in November 1997. The fourth and fifth meetings were held in February and September 1998 to review drafted material. Funding for this work was withdrawn by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission late in 1998. This Committee has continued to work via correspondence and email, and a complete draft report has been prepared. The Committee held a telephone conference on August 10, 2004 to discuss the remaining work on the report. The Committee has made revisions to the report based on input provided during the teleconference. The Chairman revised the draft report and requested additional material from the members. The draft report was received by the NCRP secretariat for text processing and formatting in 2006. NRC funded the program again in 2009, therefore, the Committee held a meeting on November 4-5, 2009 and all the members attended except for one. A new member from the NRC New Reactors Division also attended. The draft report was reviewed by the Committee and sections that needed to be updated were identified and assignments made. An executive summary was added. December 17, 2009 was agreed to as the date for deliverables. The new executive summary was received as well as Sections 4, 6, 8, and 9. First drafts of Sections 2, 3, 5, and 7 were received with completion being close. New references were added. It was anticipated that the first draft for PAC review would be available by the end of the first quarter of 2010. PAC review was completed in April 2010 and revisions were made in response to recommendations by the reviewers. The draft report was submitted for Council review on June 18, 2010. Contingent Council member comments were resolved. The report will be published as NCRP Report No. 169.
