Section 3 details the physical and chemical properties of 238Pu while Section 4 describes the source term for four scenarios of releasing 238Pu from a radioactive-thermal generator. Section 5 describes the environmental transport of released 238Pu in great detail. Section 6 briefly concerns the ecological risk from 238Pu in the environment. Section 7 addresses plutonium metabolism and biokinetics while Section 8 addresses human external and internal dosimetry of 238PuO2. Section 9 address the biological effects of 238Pu in laboratory animals and Section 10 describes the results of studies of plutonium-exposed humans. Section 11 provides human health risks from 238Pu while Section 12 gives research needs, a summary, and conclusions.
